Our Service
B.R.O.M.A.N. is an acronym for Brothers Reaching Out Meeting A Need. Our plan is two fold. First, we will raise awareness to the plight of young people both locally and globally. We plan to align with and be a fund raiser for well-established and respected children�s charities. Using our charity partners existing promotional materials, we will educate the public about the current and pressing needs of underprivileged children. Secondly, through the inspirational setting of mountaineering we will capture the hearts and imagination of people and solicit sponsors for our climbs. These climbs are aimed at raising funds to free children from their economic, social, physical and spiritual poverty. Our logo is symbolic of this spiritual poverty. There is hope and a solution.
BroMan Expeditions is not a guide service. Adventure seekers that wish to participate in climbing expeditions will need to contact professional guides. We promote worthy causes that benefit needy children by gaining sponsors for our climbs. Only our experienced climbing staff will participate and each will gain sponsors. Our climbers donate their time, passion and service.
Prior to each climbing season we will select, plan and announce climbs. BroMan Expeditions will set goals and establish a seasonal theme that will capture attention and focus on specific needs of the underprivileged. We will connect the names and faces of children to sponsors that desire to make a difference. BroMan Expeditions will give presentations and/or run informational booths that target individuals and groups. Our theme for 2003 is �Climb for the Children�.
Our Sponsors
We will solicit businesses, civic organizations, churches and individuals. To help encourage sponsorship, we will also sell t-shirts and autographed summit photos (weather permitting). Anyone that makes a minimal donation will receive a t-shirt. The t-shirt will include our logo, theme, mountain and slogan. For any company or individual that makes a significant donation, BroMan Expeditions will add their organizations name to the t-shirt.
As a fundraiser for existing charities, donations are always directed to the cause. Monies will never be used to offset the cost of our climbs or services. We will encourage our charity partners to augment the cost of t-shirts and photos.
Our Story
BroMan Expeditions grew from the desire of one man to live a life of adventure. Jeff Sondermeyer grew up in Mississippi. �Let�s face it; there are not a lot of mountains in Mississippi.� Still, he traveled extensively and climbed numerous peaks. In 1996, he was a member of a team that summited Mount McKinley, the tallest mountain in North America.
Since that time, he has led several expeditions. In 1988, Jeff began sponsoring needy children through Compassion International. He has been ministering to local prisoners on a weekly basis since 2001. Many of these prisoners have children in need. From this a passion was born to encourage, support and help those who cannot help themselves - children. In August 2002, Jeff had a dream to combine these passions: living with purpose and helping children through climbing mountains.
Our Uniqueness
Mountaineering is a fascinating sport. Many do not understand what motivates one to climb. We often hear �why climb a mountain�? BroMan Expeditions brings new meaning to the answer. We climb not only for the experience but with a specific purpose and goal.
To a climber, there is something irresistible about mountains. While overcoming these great obstacles, we gain a unique viewpoint, one in which people are naturally curious. This provides opportunities to speak. It just so happens that climbers like to talk about it! Using climbing presentations as a door opener, we hope to build new relationships in our local communities and abroad. More importantly, BroMan Expeditions will raise awareness to our partner�s cause through this medium.
Our Hope
An expedition is a sending forth. Our hope is that through climbing, BroMan Expeditions will send forth people with a purpose to reach out and meet the needs of children worldwide.
